About the Department
The science of sports is developing and growing more important gradualy in today’s world and the Department of Sports Management keeps this point in mind and sets out to train the qualified staff and managers needed by this sector, applying a syllabus towards this purpose. The Department of Sports Management determines the syllabus according to the needs of the sector and aims to train the well-equipped sports managers of the future through such theoretical ad practical courses as Sports Law, Public Administration, Communication and Public Affairs, Management and Organization in Sports, Applied Camping Training and Management and Business of Sports Facilities. For this purpose, the Department of Sports Management is to conduct the syllabus with contemporary philosophy by means of technologic education means and tools and to make the courses more efficient and effective for our students.
Fields of Employment after Graduation
Sports Management is one of the most important components of the sports sector, and as such, it contains several fields in itself. The graduates of our department are eligible to prepare projects for the needs and demands consequent on the sectoral developments; to contribute to the solution of the existing and potential problems; to analyse the innovations continuously; to carry out both theoretical and practical academic research on the issue; and to train academic staff and lecturers to do such research. However, the fields in which sports managers can work are not restricted to the abovementioned ones; rather, they have a wide range of job facilities. The graduates of the Department of Sports Management are entitled to work as sports manager and specialists at universities, local administrations, amateur and professional sports clubs, sports federations and the central and provincial organizations of Sports General Directorate. In addition, they can be employed for the teaching of sportive activities in gyms and tourism sector, and by the organizations.
