In collaboration with the Textile and Fashion Design Department of Istanbul Nişantaşı University's Faculty of Art and Design and the Textile Exporters and Employees Association (TİHCAD), the 5th Sustainability Meetings Summit was held on May 30, 2024, at our 1453 Maslak NeoTech campus.
The event, which aimed to inform both the industry and students about sustainability efforts and environmentally friendly approaches in the textile and fashion sectors within the framework of university-industry cooperation, emphasized the adoption of the concept of sustainability as a whole – social, economic, and environmental – to leave a more livable world for future generations.
At the 5th Sustainability Meetings Summit, the sustainability strategies of leading brands in the textile and fashion world, their implementation methods, the requirements of the "New Sustainable Era," and the importance of Digitalization in Textiles were highlighted. Industry representatives and expert speakers shared up-to-date information on the latest developments in the textile and fashion sectors, sustainable production methods, circular economy, consumer behaviors, and recycling.
Experienced stakeholders of the sector came together with academics to exchange ideas on important issues concerning the future of the industry. Our Textile and Fashion Design Department students had the chance to get information about internship and job opportunities from the most well-known names in the sector.
The 5th Sustainability Meetings Summit, held at Istanbul Nişantaşı University, stood out as an important platform where both industry leaders shared the latest developments and future textile and fashion professionals met with career opportunities. Participants gained comprehensive information about sustainable production technologies and best practices, establishing valuable connections for the future.
