About the Department

The Department of International Trade and Business Administration aims to provide its students with the information and skills that will help them in their careers at internationalized businesses. The Department also intends to train the personnel and managers who can work in the departments of financial affairs, financing, production, personnel, marketing, sales, administrative affairs, human sources, foreign trade, etc. at international businesses that possess the major part of the world economy in the market. In this regard, the purpose of the Department of International Trade and Business Administration is to train experts who know the international commercial documents; apply the forms of delivery and payment during the commercial process; can work as a manager in the processes of supply, production and sales; know the customs rules and apply them in practice; know how to create a global trademark and how to position and promote this trademark; and can manage the processes effectively and efficiently by realizing the cost-benefit analysing in the firms where they work.

Fields of Employment after Graduation

In today’s world where there is a fast process of globalization and all the businesses have an international foot, the graduates of the Department of International Trade and Business Administration have a wide range of choices for employment. To begin with, YOK has granted the title of economist to the graduates of the Department of International Trade and Business Administration. Thereupon, our graduates are entitled and eligible to work in multinational global companies, international checking firms, international banks and insurance companies, finance and service sectors, international company valuation consultancy firms and local or foreign businesses engaged in export and import. However, as the graduates of the Department of International Trade and Business Administration are also accepted as the graduates of the School of Applied Sciences, they have all the legal rights given to the graduates of economy, business, international trade, finance and banking departments.

About the Courses

The Department of International Trade and Business Administration is based on the courses containing information that can be used in every stage of working life. Some of the main courses are Introduction to International Trade, International Business Administration, International Marketing, International Transportation, Management of Supply Chain, Banking and Foreign Exchange Transactions, Customs Procedures, International Financing, Management of Human Sources, Management of Trademark, Modern Management Approaches and Sectoral Project Logistic Practices. Besides these courses, our students are required to attend vocational English courses every semester so that they can consolidate the general English that they learn at English preparatory class. Besides, one of the prerequisites of the Department is that they should choose one of the languages – French, Russian or German – as the second foreign language, thus being able to use at least two languages when they graduate.
