Traditional to Modern Pattern Designs
Textile and Fashion Design 4th Year Student Project Works
As Istanbul Nişantaşı University, we held an end-of-year pattern exhibition prepared by our students, where motifs carried from the past to the present were reinterpreted and transferred onto fabrics with modern technologies. In this exhibition, the eye-catching motifs of Ottoman-Turkish history such as tulips, carnations, pomegranate trees, and chintamani were revitalized with the help of modern technology. The beauties and cultural heritage carried from the past to the present were processed onto fabrics using digital printing and innovative textile techniques, thus bringing historical motifs back to life with a modern touch.
The motifs reflecting the magnificence and aesthetic understanding of history were presented to the appreciation of visitors throughout the exhibition. The elegance of tulips, the vibrancy of carnations, the abundance of pomegranate trees, and the unique designs of chintamani etc., carried from the past to the present, emphasized the importance of our cultural heritage.
This exhibition demonstrated our commitment to our history and cultural values, while also revealing our effort to carry the past into the future with the opportunities offered by modern technology. This special exhibition, where we brought together the beauties of the past with the innovations of today, allowed us to share the efforts of our students throughout the year.
